Third Conditional គឺជាប្រភេទប្រយោគមួយដែលត្រូវបានប្រើប្រាស់ដើម្បីនិយាយពីអ្វីដែលមិនមែនជាការពិត រឺអ្វីដែលមិនកើតឡើងក្នុងអតីតកាល។ ហើយជាធម្មតាប្រយោគ Third Conditional មានទម្រង់ដូចខាងក្រោម៖
If + Past Perfect Would / Wouldn’t Have + Past Participle
Ex: If we had paid our cleaner more, she wouldn’t have left us.
ក្នុងប្រយោគមួយនេះមានន័យថា៖ We didn’t pay our cleaner more, and she left us.
ក្រៅពីការប្រើប្រាស់ Would ក្នុងប្រយោគឯករាជ្យ ( Independent Clause) យើងក៏អាចប្រើប្រាស់ Modal Verb ជំនួសឲ្យ Would បានផងដែរ។ Model Verb ដែលត្រូវគេយកមកប្រើប្រាស់ជំនួស Would នោះគឺ Might and Could ។
Ex:I might have met you if I had been to the party.
If the spy had intercepted the message, he could have averted the crisis.
កាន់តែពិសេសជាងនេះទៅទៀតនោះគឺថា យើងក៏អាចលុប If ក្នុងប្រយោគ Third Conditionalបានផងដែរ។ អ្វីដែលត្រូវធ្វើគឺគ្រាន់តែយក Had មកដាក់ខាងមុខជំនួស If វិញជាការស្រេច។
Ex: Had the film been released in the summer, it would not have been so successful.
