1. Both
Both គឺជាពាក្យប្រើសម្រាប់និយាយពីការរាប់ចំនួន ពីរ របស់ប្រធានបទណាមួយ ឬក្នុងចំណោមអ្វីមួយ។ Both មិនមានន័យបដិសេធទេ គឺគេប្រើវាក្នុងន័យស្របរហូត។
· Both ត្រូវបានគេប្រើជា សព្វនាម ដើម្បីសំដៅទៅលើរបស់ពីរដែលគេបានប្រាប់រួចហើយ។
Ex: - Do you want money or house? I want both.
· យើងក៏ប្រើ Both + plural Noun ដែរ
Ex: - Mary ate both apples in the fridge.
· Both ក្នុងន័យមួយទៀតគឺប្រើដើម្បីបង្ហាញពីសមាសធាតុច្បាស់លាស់ពីរណាមួយ។ ក្នុងន័យនេះ គេប្រើ Both + Noun(Singular) + and + Noun (Singular).
Ex:
- Both cat and dog make good pets
- I want to buy both car and house.
· មួយទៀត បើអ្នកចង់ប្រើ Both ដើម្បីបង្ហាញពីចំនួន ពីរ ក្នុងចំណោមអ្វីមួយ អ្នកគួរប្រើ Both of something (plural noun or pronoun).
Ex:
- Both of my roommates are going for a trip soon.
- A prize was given to both of the winners.
2. Neither
Neither គឺជាពាក្យប្រើសម្រាប់បង្ហាញពីការបដិសេធរបស់ជម្រើសពីរ មិនមែនទាំងពីរ។
· Neither … nor… គឺជាឈ្នាប់ដែលត្រូវបានគេប្រើក្នុងន័យផ្ទុយជាមួយ Both … and… មានន័យថា មិនមែនទាំងពីរ.
Ex:
- Neither John nor Mary like babysitting.
- I like neither red shirt nor blue shirt.
- My boyfriend neither smoke nor drink.
· Neither of ត្រូវបានប្រើក្នុងន័យបង្ហាញពីការបដិសេធចំពោះរបស់ទាំងពីរ។ គេប្រើ Neither of នៅពីមុខ determiner (my, his, these, the etc.) បូកជាមួយនាមពហុវចនៈ។ ក្រៅពីនេះ Neither of ក៏ប្រើជាមួយ សព្វនាម ដូចជា (you, us, them, me, his…)
Ex:
- Neither of my friends like to go fishing.
- Neither of the parents know how to babysit.
- Neither of them is going to married.
· Neither ម្យ៉ាងទៀត យើងក៏អាចប្រើវាក្នុងទម្រង់ជាចម្លើយខ្លីៗ នៅពេលដែលមានអ្នកណាម្នាក់និយាយពីអ្វីអវិជ្ជមាន ហើយអ្នកក៏យល់ស្របជាមួយ។
Ex:
- I have never been to England. Neither have I.
- I do not want to go to that party. Neither do I.
3. Either
Either មានន័យថា មួយណាក៏បានក្នុងចំណោមពីរ។ វាត្រូវបានប្រើក្នុងន័យវិជ្ជមាន ហើយនៅខាងក្រោយវាត្រូវប្រើកិរិយាសព្ទឯកវចនៈ។
· Either… or… ប្រើជាឈ្នាប់។ វាត្រូវបានប្រើដើម្បីបង្ហាញពីជម្រើសមួយក្នុងចំណោមរបស់ពីរ។ បើកិរិយានៅក្រោយ either ជាឯកវចនៈ កិរិយានៅក្រោយ or ក៏ជាកិរិយាឯកវចនៈ។
Ex:
- Either Mary or I has to finish our assignment by tonight.
- You can choose either staying or going out with your ex.
- Either you leave my house now or I will call the police.
· Either of ត្រូវបានប្រើក្នុងន័យបង្ហាញពីភាពវិជ្ជមានក្នុងចំណោមរបស់ទាំងពីរ។ គេប្រើ either of នៅពីមុខ determiner (my, his, these, the etc.) បូកជាមួយនាមពហុវចនៈ។ ក្រៅពីនេះ either of ក៏ប្រើជាមួយ សព្វនាម ដូចជា (you, us, them, me, his…)
Ex:
- Either of my parents will have to agree with my holiday plan.
- I do not want either of the shirt.
- Either of us is going to invited that badmouth man to the party.
· Either ក៏ដូចជា Neither ដែរក៏អាចប្រើក្នុងទម្រង់ជាចម្លើយខ្លីៗ គឺនៅពេលដែលមានអ្នកណាម្នាក់និយាយពីអ្វីវិជ្ជមាន ហើយអ្នកក៏យល់ស្របជាមួយ។
Ex:
- I do not want to go to the party. I do not want either. (Neither do I)
- I am hungry. I am either.
- I have been to Thailand before. Oh, really, I have either.
